21 April, Ann-Magrit Austenå was elected new Board chair of Kopinor. Helge Rønning, Board chair since 1998, is stepping down.

Austenå (48) has her background from international cooperation, communication and journalism. She was journalist in Oslo daily Dagbladet from 1989 to 1999. Austenå chaired the Norwegian Union of Journalists from 2003 to 2007. She was Deputy Secretary General of the Norwegian Red Cross 2007–09 and is currently engaged in a project about freedom of expression, politics and religion for the Norwegain branch of International PEN.
